WHO IS BEHIND BASTION? Bastion consists of two officers: Zachary V. Sunderman and Zach Germaniuk. ZVS started the label in late 2007 and ZG came on board in 2009. They both carry out various aspects of label operations, with ZG generally handling the public side of things and ZVS typically turning the nuts and bolts. ZVS plays in Northern Beaches and the Til Heišurs Um project. ZG is in Red Sun. WHAT IS BASTION ABOUT? Bastion was founded to provide a safe home for good music that doesn't get a fair chance in the major or even indie scenes. We wanted to play a part, however small, in making overlooked music available to wider audiences and ensuring that some really special creations don't just disappear into the ether without hope. We are dedicated to fair and responsible business practices and absolute respect for the autonomy of the artist. DO WE ACCEPT DEMOS/PROMO PACKAGES/ETC? Sure, but you should know ahead of time that we don't have a lot of money lying around and can't accept everything, even if we really like it. However, we can at least promise a constructive review. ARE BASTION RELEASES AVAILABLE ON iTUNES, ETC? When the time comes, this will be at the election of the artist. Note, however, that most Bastion vinyl releases, regardless of artist, will come with a free digital download link (if we ever have the money to press one!).
