As of yesterday, Northern Beaches' Song of the Coelacanth is in-press. The release date is officially November 1st and the band is in the process of getting some shows together. We got confirmation that Red Sun will be playing the first day of WMC Fest (June 11th).

Red Sun is scheduled to play Weapons of Mass Creation Fest in Cleveland this year. The fest takes place across June 11th and 12th; we're not sure which day Red Sun will play yet, but you should check out as much of it as you can. WMC features tons of bands, artists, and speakers, and is a seriously constructive and important gathering. Also pay attention to Innervenus Records and the Mockingbird/Red Sun split 7" they are putting out this summer. The artwork for Northern Beaches' upcoming album, Song of the Coelacanth, is in the works. We have set November 1st as the release date for the CD. The band will be playing shows soon. Updates will happen here, on Facebook (go "like" us), and through the e-mail list (sign up!).

After a week in the intensive care unit, Northern Beaches vocalist Karl Steffey--my best friend for a decade--passed away this morning. Everything I do from here on out will be dedicated to the memory of his warmth and genius; a tribute to the amazing life he left behind and the amazing life ahead of him that he never got to live. If you'll excuse me, I have nothing more to say about it at the moment. ZVS
